For policyholders

Scope of works and quantum reports

Every property claim eventually becomes one document: the scope of works — the list of what will be repaired, how, and at what cost. Whoever writes that document frames the claim. Usually it is written by the insurer’s contractor. This service writes yours.

A scope and quantum report is the full professional version: every reinstatement item, room by room, with quantities measured on site, rates benchmarked against recognised schedules, and each line cross-referenced to photographic evidence. The kind of document an adjuster can check line by line — which is exactly why it can be accepted line by line.

And the standing arrangement, stated plainly: this is your document. We provide the expert evidence and reports; you put the scope in front of your insurer yourself and stay in control of your claim. The fee is agreed before work starts.

Use case

When you need your own scope

  1. 01

The insurer’s scope misses rooms, items or the less visible damage

  2. 02

You are considering a cash settlement and need the real reinstatement figure first

  3. 03

Quotes and scopes in the claim disagree and you need an independent basis

  4. 04

The claim is significant enough that the framing document should not be someone else’s

The output

What the report contains

  • 01

Site inspection with measured quantities — not estimates from photographs

  • 02

A room-by-room, line-item scope of all reinstatement works the evidence supports

  • 03

Quantum priced from recognised schedules and local market rates, basis stated

  • 04

Every line cross-referenced to photographs and readings

  • 05

Author, credentials and basis of expertise stated — the report is weighed by who stands behind it

  • 06

A document formatted the way scope reviewers actually read

From brief to answer

  1. 01

    The claim so far

What happened, what has been offered or scoped, what feels wrong. Fixed fee agreed up front.

  2. 02

    Inspection and measurement

The damage inspected and quantified on site — the part no desktop document can substitute.

  3. 03

    Your scope, priced

The full line-item scope and quantum in your hands, evidence attached, ready to submit yourself.

Questions, answered

What people ask before instructing

How is this different from a builder’s quote?

A quote is one contractor’s price for winning the job; a scope and quantum report is an evidenced professional document — measured quantities, benchmarked rates, findings cross-referenced, author accountable. Insurers discount quotes daily; a proper scope has to be answered line by line.

Can I use it when discussing a cash settlement?

It is exactly the document that conversation needs — the true reinstatement figure, evidenced. How you use it in your claim is your decision (that is the point: you stay in control). What we contribute is the number that survives scrutiny.

What does it cost?

A fixed fee, quoted before you commit, scaled to property and damage size — see the policyholder page for current guide prices. It does not change with the insurer’s decision.
